It is not hard to understand how narcissist and those with traits of narcissistic personality disorder make their way into our lives. Often times they are the most interesting person in the crowd, exhibiting passion and confidence. We marry them, we accept jobs from them, we even admire them at first... but eventually we start to notice the true side of the narcissist. This seminar will explore: (a) ways to understand the narcissist, (b) the impact of narcissists on our lives and (c) strategies for dealing with narcissist in therapy and life.

Nancy Swift Furlotti, Ph.D and Jungian Analyst, is the co-chair of the C. G. Jung Professional Endowment in Analytical Psychology at UCLA and board member at Pacifica Graduate Institute.She is also the past president of the Los Angeles Jung Institute, and past co-president of thePhilemon Foundation. She has written numerous articles, and co-edited The Dream and its Amplification with Erel Shalit.

Matthew Bennett, Psy.D. and psychologist, has a particular expertise and interest in personality disorders and assessment of personality. He is in private practice in Santa Barbara and in Ventura,and a lecturer at Pacifica Graduate Institute and at Reiss Davis Child Psychoanalytic Institute. He also lectures through the Aeolian Center for Psychotherapy, a continuing education provider in Santa Barbara
